Create decoration balls

Create beautiful deco balls yourself.

Although these deco balls are already available in every store, I really wanted to try to make them myself and I like the result very much.

They are great as a table decoration, in beautiful large vases or in bowls. The production went very well, so I will spend no money to buy which in the business, if you can do it even cheaper and more to your own taste and size itself.

The following things are needed:

  • ? Wallpaper paste
  • some balloons
  • Parcel cord or stronger yarn
  • some glasses (for later drying)
  • Needle?

They are made as follows:

  1. Mix the paste in a bowl, it should not be too thin.
  2. Inflate balloons, and just as big as you want the balls at the end.
  3. With the right hand you dip something in the paste, get the string and wrap it always a few inches on the balloon, always so that the string is moistened while wrapping with the paste. The wrapping makes you in all directions, you can get out quickly. Just wrap it all around the balloon and then cut the end of the string and press it down.
  4. The finished wet balls are now placed on a glass, so they can dry well (about 12 hours).
  5. The next day you simply stick a needle into the balloon and pull out of the ball with tweezers, that's it!

I've tried it with wool, but it has constantly slipped from the balloon, so I took the parcel and it went great. You can also use solid yarn in all colors, but I like the beige natural look of the decorative balls with the string.

If you want to have a big deco ball, you buy larger balloons and blows on the desired size, then you can insert a chain of lights through some openings on the ball, there is also the possibility to make several small balls and make it a great string of lights then you push the individual lights in a ball. I'll do that next.
