Cucumber recipe: cucumber or for awakening
Simon cucumbers as a cucumber or even for awakening.
I converted this gherkin recipe for our grandson Simon. Since then, the cucumbers are called only Simon cucumbers and are highly coveted. The original recipe comes from an old handwritten cookbook. I changed it a bit.
Here is the recipe:
1 kilo of inlay cucumbers in a suitable vessel einschicht (washed), to come
1 medium onion (clean and cut into pieces)
1 umbel dill
1 - 1.5 tablespoons cucumber seasoning (or mustard seeds, 2 allspice granules, 3 - 4 peppercorns)
From 40 g of salt, 100 g of sugar, 1 L of water, 200 ml of 5% vinegar, boil and pour hot over the cucumbers. After about 12 hours you can try the cucumbers. The cucumbers stay in the fridge for a few days.
To soak in glasses (let stand at 90 degrees for 5 minutes).
