Letscho homemade: red peppers were on offer, kg 1.10 euros, could not resist, so letscho cooked for the first time in stock.

My letscho recipe

  • 2 kg paprika red
  • 2 kg of ripe tomatoes
  • 1 kg of onions
  • 1 snake cucumber
  • 1 - 2 hot peppers
  • 3 - 6 garlic
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt, pepper, papaya powder
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar, lemon peel
  • 1 large pot, 6 large screw jars

Prepare the vegetables

Wash, clean, cut into strips or pieces, slice in tomatoes, pour boiling water over them, skin and cut into pieces.

Heat the oil, briefly fry the peppers and garlic, add papaya powder, only very briefly, so that it does not get bitter, gradually add the onions and sauté until they are slightly yellowish, now the pepper strips, tomato pieces, cucumber cubes, salt, pepper, vinegar and If necessary, add the lemon zest and bring to a boil, then simmer for about 30 minutes.


In the meantime, pour over the rinsed glasses and coverlets in a shallow bowl of boiling water and invert immediately.

Put the boiling Letscho into the jars, close immediately, if necessary invert and allow to cool. Keep cool and dark.

The first portion I enjoyed today, Letscho with cooked rice, then a salted, leavened fish fillet and a lot of parsley, simmer until the fish is cooked ... done!
