ingredients

  • 1.5 L red wine not too dry (I always take Württemberger Lemberger / Trollinger from Aldi)
  • 2 L of water
  • 17-18 g black tea (very good Darjeeling, Second Flush)
  • 320-340 g of sugar
  • Bowl of 2 lemons and oranges each
  • Juice of 3 medium lemons and 5-7 (blood) oranges, total 600 ml
  • 1/2 bottle of rum (Aldi Silverstone) and 10-20 ml of Austrian rum 60 or 80% for flavoring

preparation

  1. Boil the tea and leave it covered for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the wine well with the sugar, the peel and the juice of the citrus fruits, do not cook!
  3. Add the tea and rum and let everything get very hot, do not cook!
  4. After 15-20 minutes try, if the punch already tastes aromatic, otherwise can be drawn, caution, too long pulling it may make him bitter.
  5. Strain and serve.
  6. The punch keeps very well in bottles, can be warmed up and drunk cold.
