Rice with chickpeas - Nohutlu Pilav

This rice is really so tasty ... you can also eat it cold if something is left over ... just great ... it also tastes good with natural yoghurt or of course as a side dish ...

Ingredients:

1 glass of chickpeas, either canned or "fresh"
2 glasses of rice (that's up to 4 people)
4 glasses of water
1 packet chicken broth cubes
50 g butter

Preparation:


Prepare the chickpeas thoroughly, that is, if you take fresh chickpeas, soak them the day before, and then cook long the next day until they are tender. You do not have to boil them with canned chickpeas.

Put the water in a pot and add the butter, stock cubes and some curry, stir and let stand until it boils. After the water has started to boil, chickpeas and rice are added. Cook the chickpea rice until the water is overcooked (best to cook on a medium flame with the lid closed and if there is still very little water left, simmer for 10 minutes with the lid off, or even put out the flame.

The recipe also says: If the water is overcooked or almost overcooked, put a paper towel under the lid on the pot and then let the rice for 10 minutes, probably the flame should be made out there, that is not there?) But me turn off the flame as soon as everything is in the pot and let it go.
