Saxon potato cake

For a Saxon potato cake you need the following.

ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 30g of yeast
  • 125g sugar
  • 1 / 4l milk
  • 250g grated potatoes
  • 100g sultanas or raisins
  • 125g butter
  • 50g chopped almonds
  • 30g lemon
  • 1 p. Vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 lemon (grated peel)
  • salt

For covering:

  • 125g butter
  • 100g sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon

preparation

Make a batter from the flour, yeast, sugar and milk, leaving it in a warm place. Now add the remaining ingredients and knead everything to a yeast dough. Return to a warm place and let the dough rise (until it has doubled its quantity). Then knead the dough again and then roll out about 7 mm thick on a baking tray and prick several times with a fork.

Covering:

Melt half of the butter, spread on the dough and press in small depressions. Spread the remaining butter in flakes. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Let it rest for 15 minutes in a warm place.

Bake in the oven at 220 ° C for about 20-25 minutes.
