Simple salad dressing as a mayonnaise substitute

Salad is a tasty thing, but ready-salad dressings are not always available, or desired. Do it yourself always there. Because we like to eat salad, but not all mayonnaise tolerate, I've thought about a simple version or a replacement to tinker.

As always, you can take that as a basis and change the other ingredients as you like. So you can, for example make the whole thing spicy with onion cubes. Or experiment with herbs and or spices. Tomato paste or mustard goes too. However, this time without everything.

I had a red pepper, and because it was very sweet, I did not want to drown in the taste and did not do anything extra clean. There were also cheese strips in it and tasted wonderful. So only sour cream and yolk.

You take:

  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 2 - 3 boiled egg yolk is best more than waxy, but not rock hard
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 touch of pepper
  • 1 dash of lemon or lime
  • 1 tittle of sugar

So that no extra washing up, you can put the ingredients in the appropriate salad bowl until it is a smooth mass. It is very similar in composition to mayonnaise, but much lighter. What a pity, to smear on bread, she is not suitable in this variation. But maybe it works if you thwart it. For example, with Nestargel, but that's just an idea. I have not tried it myself yet, only on weekends when there are baguettes.

The leftover egg whites may be chopped into salad or served on another occasion. The amount is sufficient for a whole iceberg salad.
