The autumn children - my little bedtime story
Because of a lot of prescriptions and tips for adults, we often do not think that we can hand them over to our children. That's why I've considered this time to publish here a short children's story - suitable for the fall. Pre-reading tip for parents: Well suited as a bedtime story!
Since we are just in the fall, I have invented the story during this season for my little son. He likes to hear them and fall asleep with them!
Short about the autumn country
Autumn in the autumn country is a special time? the time of serenity. It is the time when the trees throw off their yellow, orange, red and also rarely green leaves and cover the streets with them. Autumn has the lovely scent of pumpkins, potatoes and zucchini, apples, plums and pears.
Such are the autumn children
The autumn children are calm and happy. They wear brown and gray clothes, pithy boots or rubber boots, play in their gardens and enjoy the rain and the damp smell of earth. Gigantic trees in the gardens provide shelter from rain. On big ships, which they build from leaves, they drive in puddles and splashing their boots laughing and happy into the water. Huge and happy jumping squirrels are their friends. The children are not afraid of these animals. They sit on their fur and ride them from one branch to the other and then higher to the top. The animals fluff their woolly tails and jump up and up.
Three autumn months, these children are very active. In September, the fall harvest in the autumn country begins for her. In October, the autumn children celebrate the autumn festival beloved by all autumn people and renew their stocks with new plants and mushrooms from the forest. The animals in the forest are also supported by feeding. In November, they write their final exams and prepare new supplies for next year in the cellars of their small houses with relatives.
What are the children doing every three months of the fall?
Autumn is one of those autumn girls from autumn country. She has big brown eyes and curly chestnut hair. She was born on the first of October, exactly on the first day of the autumn festival. Autumn lives in a tiny house with her parents. It is a small and very happy family. Autumn's parents are kind-hearted people who have been together for 20 years. She has many friends she met in her fall school. Each class in this school lasts 3 months of autumn, every year.
Autumn has a lot to do outside of school in September. She helps her parents and other children harvest their gardens. Since the trees and fruits are large, autumn children and their relatives help each other. The big pears, apples and plums are collected by all, gutted and sugared. The pumpkins, courgettes and potatoes are rolled up to the middle of the gardens where they are peeled and cut. In her free time, the girl plays with her comrades outside. They sing autumn songs and dance in puddles, they feed squirrels and stroke their powerful heads. In their gardens, the autumn children shovel caves and play hide and seek. But her favorite pastime is meeting in a kids' café and enjoying hot cocoa with warm pancakes in custard and chatting about everything.
From the first of October, all children, their parents and grandparents and other relatives celebrate the autumn festival. The autumn festival lasts 2 weeks every year. It is a big and beautiful festival in the autumn country. The festival always takes place in a wide tent under the largest tree of the autumn country. Each family participates in this event on a particular day and prepares its own treat to present it, let the others try and win a prize. This can be a pumpkin soup, potato and zucchini salad or a plum cake and pear or apple jam. In each category, there is an assessment committee, which consists of 5 children. These children are responsible for tasting every delicacy and making a fair selection. The price is a visit to the autumn park with all the attractions, a plush squirrel and a golden cup with its own engraved name.
Autumn and her mother cooked a pumpkin soup to Grandma's recipe and came to feast with this soup. The girl is wearing a pumpkin suit. A few weeks ago her mum sewed the suit specifically for the competition. Autumn meets with the other contestants participating in the competition. The atmosphere is special: children's music sounds from the speakers, famous fairy tale readers read children's stories, all children run around with their colorful fruit and vegetable costumes on the grounds. After the end of the competition, all the catching games, jump into the hay and perform line dances. In between there are still small children's competitions.The most popular children's fights are: the highest jumping on squirrels, the fastest combing of a fat pony, the fastest riddling of riddles and the quickest picking up of raindrops.
Autumn took third place with the pumpkin soup and received a lobster card and a beautiful golden cup with her name. The girl had not reached the first place, but there was this great win for your effort anyway. The card contains 50 words of praise for their soup. The autumn people write their opinions openly, gratefully and heartily, to appreciate the girl's achievement.
In the middle of October something special happens in the autumn country, in which all autumn children absolutely want to participate: a joint trip to the big autumn forest. The autumn forest is limitless and fascinating in this season. With its trees, shrubs and numerous inhabitants, the forest is the best place for children to experience. Every year the children go to the forest with their teachers and find new plants and leaves of different shapes and colors. These collect the autumn children for their herbal books. Numerous mushrooms of the season, such as autumn trumpets, gray-flowered sulfur heads, cormorants, greenlings and many others, find their place in such plant collections. For the forest animals, the autumn children bring chestnuts and acorns and leave them behind at the forester. For their bird friends, the children have peanuts, grains and sunflower seeds. The autumn children know that grain food is not suitable for all birds. That is why they have also brought something soft for blackbirds, bluebirds and robins, such as raisins, apples and pressed cereal grains. So the kids support the wildlife and birds and do something good for them.
In November autumn children write their final exams, and at the end of the month they get their grades. Autumn achieved a certain feat in this class: her poems were even received by the director of the Autumn School. The teacher gave the girl the "hat of outstanding poets." The other children also get different hats for their talents.
At the end of the fall, each fall kid helps his parents and grandparents finish prune, apple and pear jams and lock them into next year's cans to keep them. Cooked vegetables are preserved as well. This is a typical task of every autumn family in November. Thereafter, all cans are kept for a few days in a cool place and later placed in a cellar. Autumn's family is no exception. Her mother knows the best recipes of Autumn's grandma and teaches her to her daughter. The father also helps with can closing. Then he carries all the prepared cans down to the basement.
When autumn comes to an end
On the last day of November, November 30th, when the sun goes down and the moon takes its place, autumn children, their parents, grandmothers and grandfathers, aunts and uncles lie down in their warm and comfy cots and sleep with new ones until next fall Goals and hopes for next season.
