Remove magnets from old hard disks - data security included.

But beware! The magnets are so strong that they can kill electronic devices such as cell phones, TVs, laptops and so on.
Always handle it carefully and conscientiously.
Before you go to work: Those with young children can have the children scrapped. But be careful too! The innards are often sharp-edged.
So to work:
Power cable out! Rear are mostly screws to open the case. Inside is then the hard drives, connected to power and motherboard. These plugs must be off. The hard drive is usually bolted to the case, rarely clipped, etc., i. it has to be disconnected or removed from the computer.
Then the external screws of the hard disk must be opened, 4 or 6 pieces. Often they are mini-torx screws or something exotic. You do not have to buy the precision tool for it, usually someone in the circle of acquaintances has something at home. If the work is then open, you have to disassemble everything, until you have the hard disk magnets free.
They are always connected to an iron, from which it is better not to separate them, if one does not want to find that the actual magnets are very crumbly and unstable, if they then break and the metal coating goes off; i.e. then they are useless.
After that you can use them for many things. For example, iron can be magnetized with it, ie screwdrivers etc. They are also suitable for the refrigerator, provided that the door is made of sheet metal. Then you can just attach amazingly heavy things, e.g. a snack in a plastic bag or something like that.
Astonishing also, if something is to be taken from an inaccessible place, so a screw or a key, etc.
Things can be fastened in the trunk with it, oh there are many areas of application.
