Without pudding: apple pie with walnuts

Apple cake with walnuts, without pudding.

That's how it's done:

Cover the bottom of a springform pan with aluminum foil. Then add some butter flakes and sprinkle with 1 1/2 tbsp sugar and 1 vanilla sugar.


Approximately Caramelize for 5 minutes in the oven.

Approximately Peel 1 kg of apples, dice them and put them on top of the caramelized sugar, leaving the rim free. Cover the edge with half walnuts. If you like, sprinkle some minced walnuts over the apples.

Ingredients for the dough:


  • 150 g of butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 g of brown sugar
  • 1 p. Vanilla sugar
  • 150 g of flour (I take white and wholemeal flour 1: 1)
  • 1/2 p. Baking powder

Make a batter out of the ingredients (should be heavy, possibly add some milk) over the apples.
Baking: 180 °, approx. 45 minutes.

Remove the rim, topple the cake and carefully peel off the aluminum foil. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar / cinnamon mixture.

In my opinion, the most delicious apple pie, is also desired by my daughters again and again. I upload a picture as soon as I have baked it again.
