Advertising on the Internet: Who's going to blow up?

In one of my posts in the past, the comments criticized that the TheFruitAndFlowerBasket editors seem to be interested only in high clicks and the associated advertising revenue. Apart from the fact that I find this submission abundantly outrageous, it is also factually wrong.

Simply clicking on a post will not bring any advertising revenue for a long time. Only when the user clicks directly on one of the ads, it becomes financially interesting. Therefore, a fiercely controversial post brings just as much (or little) advertising revenue as a well-public commented recipe. Decisive is always the personal click behavior of each individual. But only marginally. Actually, I would rather a lance for the? Oh so angry advertising? without which there would not be a site like TheFruitAndFlowerBasket.

Advertising allows free access

The only alternative to an ad-supported Internet site would be a fee-based service for all users. That means in plain text: Who wants to read tips, must be metal. I think that alone this argument should make all voted opponents conciliatory. The same is true of print media: A magazine such as Gala or Bunte would probably only be half as thick without advertising, but many times more expensive. The fact that similar laws apply in the internet does not seem to have really opened up for many Internet users.

From Camel Man to Clementine? a personal review

When in the cinema of my childhood the first bars of?Like Ice in the Sunshine? From the boxes boo one knew: The advertising is over, the light is raised again briefly and then comes the sweet ice cream vendor with her magical belly shop. It then took quite a while until all those who wanted to eat in the hall were provided with cornetto nut, brown bear or ice cream confection and the main film could start. Of course, I was happy about an ice cream, but always a bit sad that the ad was over. Although I knew the spots partly from the television program, but what was our little black and white television at home against the huge movie screen ?? Just.

For me, the whole movie program should have consisted of commercials, the films did not really interest me so much. Especially the Camel man who fought miles through the jungle for a cigarette had done to me. What a man! My dad used to smoke Attica (are they still there?) And my childish wish that he should finally change to Camel, was not answered. I did not find the Marlboro man so convincing? Who is so stupid and wearing a white hat in the dusty prairie?

All this is now more than forty years ago. Nevertheless, the faces of the former advertising icons are better remembered than those of my primary school teachers. I could easily draw from memory a phantom image of the Ariel-Clementine and also the face of Tilly? You are just bathing their hands in it? I am still present. Is that a sign that I am particularly receptive to the promises of advertising? So exactly the type of consumer that every marketing expert dreams of? easy to manipulate, uncritical and brand loyal? I do not think so. I still like well-made advertising, but I do not run straight to Hornbach and buy a new drill, just because their TV advertising clips are just the blast. Nor do I allow myself to be tempted by sudden pop-up advertising on the Internet to click something that I'm actually not interested at all.

Stay cool

I can almost see the question marks above the heads of some readers? why does the man write all that, where is the hint? To make it short: There is no real tip. But a suggestion for those who like to comment in their comments on the contributions of others: Exercise in serenity and take things a bit looser. Not always the HB male is a good role model. Anyone who is upset about advertising and the associated advertising revenue for the site operator, should stay away from this page. Another possibility, of course, would be to recall the arguments mentioned above: without advertising this page would not exist. Just be happy to know that there are people who keep this page going and give you a free pastime. That these people do not all work out of pure enthusiasm, but want to make a living, is probably more than understandable, right?

And now all (the melody is probably known): TheFruitAndFlowerBasket? Merci, that you exist!
