Canceled concert: experience buying tickets via eventim

Today I would like to advise you to be careful when buying tickets for concerts at eventim.de. The customer service is in my opinion bad and I probably stay on a part of the cost, although I can not help it.

But one after anonther.

It's not often that I go to a concert. But in November I wanted to enjoy another rock concert in a small club. So bought tickets - at eventim.de. In addition to the ticket price you pay then still 4.90 euros "service and shipping". What the "service" is, is beyond me ... In addition I booked the ticket insurance for about 3 euros.


A few weeks later an e-mail from eventim.de reached me: The concert was canceled for private reasons. OK, it can happen. I'll get back the money completely - right?

According to eventim, I should send the original tickets back please, then refund the ticket price. Why can not I just get the money back like this? After all, all tickets are now worthless, because the concert is canceled - eventim.de are all information available. One might think that eventim.de speculate that some customers would not send the tickets back, which would mean more profit ... A rogue who thinks evil doing so.

So I've emailed the support - already a bit frustrated - in demand. Answer: Tickets have to be sent back. But not only that:


According to eventim, the shipping costs are non-refundable: "Unfortunately, we can not refund you the shipping costs, as a successful delivery has taken place." Since it starts in my opinion already: customer service is different! Because once the question arises: What of the 4.90 euros was the shipping and what the service? Do I get back the fees for the "service"? Or did this "take place" and is therefore also non-refundable?

Now it goes on: The e-mail was attached to a PDF, which I sign and send along with the tickets to eventim.de back. It is recommended to do the whole by registered mail (the tickets could indeed go "lost"?). That The return shipping costs me even more money ...

The blast comes in my opinion yet: On the PDF to be signed is "Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, enclose my intact original tickets for the event. Please to attempt To cancel the tickets with the organizer. After successful cancellation, please reimburse me the paid card price on the account used at the time of purchase. "


To attempt? Well, thank you ... Now is not even sure that I get my money back? I think that eventim.de makes it too easy - I have rarely experienced such bad customer service. So you do not deal with his customers. The concert does not take place. The ticket price is to be refunded. Unconditionally. Point.

My advice? Be aware that ticket-online-shops like eventim.de are not the organizer of the concerts, but only a mediator acting on behalf of and for the account of the organizer. If something goes wrong, one seems to want to make things easy with eventim.de. I have the impression that costs should be passed on to the customer here. Obendrauf comes in my opinion bad customer service from eventim.de. Therefore, I now get tickets differently: Directly with the band, the organizer or at the box office - but certainly not with eventim.de. For queuing in the evening you have to with the tickets that you have previously purchased over the Internet.

By the way: Fairly, the eventim customer service for my request as a "compensation" sent me a 5 euro voucher. Of course, I will not use it because I will never be a customer again at eventim.
