Carrot Box Cake - a recipe from 1939

This is a pretty old recipe from 1939 that I took from my mother-in-law. I have baked the cake many times, it is wonderfully relaxed.

Ingredients:
30 g butter, 125 g sugar, 1 pe. Vanilla sugar, 125 g finely grated carrots, a little salt, 250 g flour, 9 g baking powder (3 tsp.), 5 tbsp skimmed fresh milk

Preparation:
Mix the butter with 1 tablespoon of sugar until smooth, stir in the grated carrots, the remainder of the sugar and the spices. Add the flour mixed with the baking powder alternately with the milk and stir well. The dough should be heavy tearing and then filled into a greased tin box and baked in a preheated oven.

Baking time: approx. 60 minutes at medium heat

Note from me: I take 1 Pa. Baking powder, which corresponds to about 9 g, and bake the cake at 175 to 180 ° C in a lined with baking paper box shape. You can also refine the cake with chocolate sauce.
