Dry cheese slices

Sometimes it happens that cheese slices dry out at the edge, e.g. if the opened packaging does not close well.

Then you put the cheese in milk for a few hours and the cheese is soft again! Then dry with a kitchen towel and it is ready to eat.

Drachima: Dry cheese can be rubbed and used for gratinating. Mafalda: I would like to doubt that the cheese in milk is more appetizing than before. Everything sucks, not only the edge that has become dry, and it becomes viscous. This is known from sandwiches with lettuce, cucumber or tomato slices. Underneath, the cheese is always completely swollen. I do not want to have a whole disc like that, then I prefer to cut off the dry edge and enjoy the rest.
I'd rather make sure that the cheese is well packed away or eaten faster. In the worst case, I eat the cheese without bread before it gets dry. ;-)
