Kohlrabi stew with belly meat or soup meat

A simple but delicious recipe I have from my grandmother: kohlrabie stew with belly meat or soup meat.

ingredients

(For 4 people)

  • 4-5 kohlrabi with greenery
  • potatoes
  • Pork belly meat or beef veal
  • water
  • Salt pepper

preparation

  1. Cover the meat with water and cook for about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in another pan, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the washed kohrabi leaves for 2-3 minutes. They are now very intense green.
  3. Take out the kohlrabi leaves and chop them, pour the water away.
  4. Peel the potatoes and dice them roughly. Cook them in salted water until soft. Then drain the potatoes.
  5. Peel the kohlrabi and cut into small pegs. The meat should be soft now. If not, cook for another 5 minutes until soft.
  6. Add the kohlrabi to the meat in the large pot and cook gently for ten minutes. Now take out the meat and cut it up.
  7. Put the potatoes into the kohlrabi pot and stomp with the potatoes (not with the mixer!). Stir until the soup is creamy. Season with salt and pepper ...
