In the wine cooperative, where I often buy wine, there is also wine jelly, which tastes very delicious. However, the glass costs 5 euros, and you can do it so quickly and easily yourself, the issue really does not have to be.
ingredients
- 1 bottle (3/4 L) dry wine. In red, I recommend a Dornfelder, but it is also good a strong Spanish Rioja. For white wine Riesling tastes best. It does not have to be expensive wine, the discounter is quite enough.
- 1 pck of gelling agent (eg Gelfix by Dr Oetker)
- 300 g of sugar
preparation
Stir wine with gelling agent and sugar, bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes while stirring, then pour into clean screw jars, cover with lid, let stand on lid for 5 minutes, then turn over, allow to cool, done.
Tips
You can also use a 3: 1 Gelierzucker, but then you also have a preservative in it. The jelly keeps but also so at least a year.
The jelly not only tastes good on bread, but also very well with game, liver pâté and as an addition in the gravy or red cabbage.
