Dutch poffertjes

Ingredients for 4 servings

  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 1 pck of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 75 g of flour
  • 75 g buckwheat flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 120 ml of milk
  • powdered sugar
  • butter

If you do not have buckwheat flour, it also does regular flour.

preparation

  1. Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar with the pinch of salt until fluffy. Mix flour with baking powder and stir. Add milk. If you like, you can also add some cinnamon to the dough. Tastes after Christmas :-)
  2. Let the dough swell for about 20 minutes. Then with a small trowel in the hot Poffertjespfanne. Bake on both sides until light brown! You can also take a squeeze bottle for portioning (available in retail stores).
  3. Best serve melted butter with a brush (rubber brush) over the finished Poffertjes and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Preparation time approx. 20 minutes without rest period.

A Poffertjespfanne is a kind of frying pan, with depending on the kind with 7-19 small hollows is equipped. The pan is used like any other pan on the stove. They also have electricity, but they are not that good. The pan is available at e.g. eBay.
