Remove labels & adhesive residues | TheFruitAndFlowerBasket TV

Today I would like to show you how to get labels of bottles and screw jars and how to get stickers, stickers and price tags from a variety of items made of metal, plastic or other materials.

The tools used for this are dishwashing detergent, oil, rough sponge, a copper cloth, a sponge made of plastic, a vegetable knife and a microfibre cloth.

  1. Transparent plastic labels are easy to remove if you remove them very slowly with constant pressure, preferably in one part.
  2. Bottles, come with me without closure, with little dishwashing detergent, in the hot water. Once the water has cooled, most labels can be easily removed afterwards. The stubborn labels, however, need a post-treatment and a little more patience. I scrape this, as long as the label is still wet, with the vegetable knife. The adhesive residues, if they are rather dry, then I remove in a water bath with a copper cloth. It is important that this copper cloth is wet, otherwise scratches may occur.
  3. Stubborn labels that even the water bath does not harm, get 2 washes in the dishwasher. Still moist, the labels can then be scraped off with a vegetable knife.
  4. Tough adhesive residues I treat with oil. I paint the glass with it and let the oil work overnight. In this way, I also treat label residues on plastic boxes or metal containers. The next day, the labels and adhesive residues are much easier to remove. I then treat objects with more sensitive surfaces with a microfibre cloth soaked in oil. Glue residue on plastic boxes, I then clean with oil and the plastic sponge. Only wipe with kitchen paper and wash as usual.
  5. Price tags on books with a coated, smooth surface I prefer, if possible, in one piece. Here, the adhesive residues are also removed with little oil and the microfiber cloth in circular movements. Simply wipe off with a damp cloth and rub dry.
  6. Adhesive residues of stickers can also be removed very well with the oil method. It is also important to let the oil soak overnight. Then remove the adhesive with the microfibre cloth.
  7. Screw jars and bottles with large openings come with me in the dishwasher. Most labels go off. For stubborn labels and adhesive residues, place in the dishwasher again and then treat with the oil method as shown.

The most effective way to remove the labels in the water and in the dishwasher. Stubborn adhesive residue is best removed with oil.

But labels and stickers on wood, a door or door frame, the refrigerator or tiles can be removed well with oil.

That's how I removed the stickers on the nursery door. After half a year, the white stains left by the stickers were also yellowed by the light. Today you can not see where they were glued.

To make it easier to remove the labels on the self-filled glasses and containers in the future, I stick the labels on them using transparent adhesive tape or a water-soluble craft adhesive.

I hope, with my tip, to have made the household a little easier!
