Always wash the lid of tin cans!

Anyone who uses a conventional can opener, which cuts out the lid inside, knows it: if you open a tin can, especially those that are filled with liquids, the lid bends briefly into the contents. The liquid floats over the lid and back into the can.

Since the cans often come from abroad and / or have been in dirty warehouses and means of transport, I always wash cans at short notice, sometimes I just go over it with a wet cloth. So I avoid as far as possible that dirt and bacteria get into my food. This is especially important if I want to pick up some remnants of the content (of course, transferred).
