Beef roulades with a difference
I recently wanted to make beef roulades again, but then realized that I had neither broth nor tomato paste in the house. (I was on vacation before and somehow my son consumed these ingredients that I used to always have at home without replenishing them.)
It was of course Sunday, how could it be otherwise, so could not just go shopping fast ...
Then I simply took a bag of onion soup as a "substitute".
As always, prepared the roulades, coated with mustard, cucumber and bacon rolled in the roulade and then, of course, seared sharp.
Usually I add broth, spices and tomato paste. Since I had neither broth nor tomato paste, I simply added a packet of onion soup and water and allowed to simmer for about 1/2 hour.
Afterwards, the sauce is still a little thickened. In addition gabs potatoes and red cabbage, but also tastes good with Späzle!
And what can I say, it tasted fantastic, so that I have already repeated this "emergency solution".
