Steamed mackerel or herring in the style of the Vikings
To prepare these savory swimmers for your "strong men" you need
- 4 fresh mackerel or herring (I prefer mackerel, as it should be especially rich in Omega 3 and 6 fats)
- 30 g butter
- salt
- 1ne grated or very finely diced onion
- Paprika (amount to taste)
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of basil
- chives
- parsley
- lemon juice
- 4 tomatoes
?Preparation
- The fish are gutted and washed, depending on how you got them from the dealer of your trust.
- The butter is mixed with salt, onions, spices, crushed herbs and a little lemon juice and mixed.
- Spread the herb butter into the fish and place the float on a porcelain or glass baking dish.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice, place tomato slices in the oven and simmer in the oven: 180 to 200 degrees, 20 to 30 minutes, then left in the residual heat for up to 10 minutes.
I wish you good appetite ... and always a hand's breadth of water under the keel.
