Tomato sauce with basil pesto

When I was cooking tomato sauce, it occurred to me that I still had basil pesto left over from the jar (3 days old). There were about 2 tablespoons left of the pesto.
I put this into my tomato sauce, then filled the pesto glass with water, put the lid on it, shaken it, and also put the pesto water into the sauce. I have to say that the pesto has a good flavor rounding off. The consistency of the tomato sauce has also turned creamy.
