Cotton fitted sheets can be stretched better
This is a tip for owners of BAUMWOLL fitted sheets, who are not tense and do not have all-round gumming.
I have a 100 x 200 cm mattress, and although I bought the matching fitted sheets, not all fit really well. The elastic jersey fitted sheets fit perfectly.
The cotton fitted sheets, which do not have a round elastic band, are too over-the-top and can also be stretched very badly between the bed frame and under the mattress.
In the trade, there are bed sheet holders that work similar to suspenders. But I do not have them at home and I wanted to solve my problem, which annoyed me today when referring once again, immediately.
Since my sewing skills are just enough for button sewing, I have found the following simple solution:
The 2 longitudinal seams (the one without gum) double take and two buttons (in my case, dark buttons, because I have very bad eyes) sewn at the same intervals with twine.
The rubber band buttoned and ready. Normal rubber band into which small slits are cut with a utility knife or the like may also go.
Workload including searching of the material: about 10 -15 minutes.
If you want to do it very well, you can sew on counter buttons for reinforcement. I trust to keep that double layer of fabric and twine.
